About Us

Welcome!

Our family home is nestled on 63 acres in the heart of Daviess County, Indiana.  Here in this quaint, rural country-side is where we grew up, work, and raise our family~both human and golden alike! The goldens enjoy a little piece of country heaven, with a woods to explore and pond in which to swim and train. We are small hobby breeders and our goldens are a huge part of our lives. As a family, we show our goldens in 4H and AKC events in obedience, rally, and agility.  Our girl, Riley is also a TDI therapy dog, which as brought she and I both alot of joy. While we breed on a limited basis to further our goals, we are committed to offering healthy, intelligent, sound, quality golden retrievers for our families. However, our ultimate goals and focus is producing goldens for use in perfomance homes and events: field, hunt, agility, obedience.  A golden retriever should have dual functionality in the ring and in the field with the proper structure.

"Grapevine Goldens" kennel name came from the fact that my husband is the 5th generation to live on this farm.  Long ago, the road to our home was commonly refered to locally as "Grapevine Road".  Since both our roots and our golden children are so deeply established here, the name seemed to naturally fit.  Take a look around, and feel free to drop us a line or give us a call anytime~or find us on Facebook.

Please don't say: "I don't want a show dog, just a pet."

For people thinking of adding a dog, either adult or puppy, to their home, really need to do their homework! I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this statement: "I don't want a show dog, I just want a pet!".  Ugh. As a responsible breeder, I cringe at this statement.  Believe me, the answer to this, is "Yes, you do!".  Here is a short, to-the-point, blog about just this topic.  I urge you to follow the link and read it, in preparation of bringing a new puppy into your home.
